THE CO BLIZZARD OF '06!!!!!!

SNOWED IN!!!!!!!!!! 12/20 & 21/06!!!!!!!!
Yesterday where we live in Littleton, we got 14 inches...and we woke up Thursday morning with about 15 more inches! Curt went out around noon (while still snowing out!) and said there was at least 30 inches of snow! He said the snow went all the way up to his mid thighs! Yesterday the winds were 37mph and humidity 91%.
Snow drifts and north winds are what really caused the havoc!! They say on the news the blizzard is supposed to stop tonight! We'll see!
Everything closed yesterday...and still is closed. The governor issued state of emergency for colorado and the national guard was released to help stranded motorists. The red cross set up shlelters. The airport has been closed since yesterday morning. They say no flights possible until maybe noon Friday. The airport is filled with thousands of stranded passengers trying to make it to their holiday destinations. (which seems impossible now!) Our friends had a flight out tonight to Phoenix, but they were told they probably can't make it out til Monday!!! They want to get all the people in the airport out now, before they get any new flights out!
The malls all closed yestereday afternoon. The postal service is not delivering mail today and was not able to deliver mail yesterday either! They said they might deliver mail on Sunday to make up for the backload of it all and try to get all holiday packages and mail out!
Well at least we will have a WHITE CHRISTMAS!!!! Curt plans on heading to work tomorrow. I plan on going out too! We have to turn in our leased VW '06 Jetta (can't believe it's already been a year since Curt got it for me! :) So we will just be traveling around in our Envoy from now on!
Hope everyone enjoys these Colorado Blizzard pics! Can't wait to get out tomorrow and see how beautiful everything looks covered in ALL this SNOW!!!!! It's so gorgeous!!!!
"It's beginning to look alot like Christmas! Everywhere you go!"
That's a bush blanketed in snow on the right! 7:00 am Curt took this picture. Those are all cars covered in snow! Another 7:00am shot of the cars covered in snow! The back breezeway... The parking lot...Cars Our blue SUV Envoy...covered. Covered cars...you can't even see some of them out there b/c the snow is so thick! Our blue SUV Envoy

Holy Snow! It never snowed that much when I lived there, although it did snow enough for the city to close down for one day. It made everyone get cabin fever because the following day was our busiest ever at the restaurant I worked at. No one could handle staying put for even 1 whole day! Be safe on the roads out there!
